About the role

Babcock provides London Fire Brigade with a range of training and development programmes covering all staff levels using a variety of training mediums. This role supports our design team in maintaining the accuracy and currency of training materials and in creating new eLearning and other types of course content. The successful applicant will complete a level 3 Apprenticeship in Learning and Development and, on completion, will be eligible to apply for a role as a Training Designer.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance of training materials by systematically carrying out qualitative checking processes.
  • Assist Training Designers with specific aspects of content design. 
  • Engage with all relevant stakeholders when maintaining materials and assisting with design tasks.
  • Achieve set performance targets and KPIs.
  • Comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the company Security Ops policy.
  • Any other such tasks as may be allocated by the

Content Development Manager.

  • Protect assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference.


What do I need to do the role?

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good standard of basic numeracy.
  • Team player - able to work cooperatively with others.
  • Self-starting – able to work alone, plan aspects of own work, set and meet appropriate tartgets.
  • An eye for detail e.g. for identifying grammatical and punctuation errors in written English text or errors in sequences or incorrect calculations etc.
  • Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
  • Ambitious and hardworking to get the work done and successfully complete the apprenticeship.


What else do I need to know?

  • All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks. Verification of any qualifications/passport/licences must be shown at interview stage.
