The role


As a Sports Facilities Coordinator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The primary role of RAF Halton is to train military and civilian personnel to perform to the highest standard for military operations. This sees the station deliver the Basic Recruit Training Course which has a throughput of approximately 2300 personnel graduating annually, as well as the delivery of command, leadership, and management training as part of their continuing professional development. The station is also the nominated ‘home’ venue for 16 RAF sports associations.

 

Day to day, As the Sports Facilities Co-Ord you will be responsible for:
 

  • Coordination of various facilities – including but not limited to a sports pavilion with meeting rooms, several buildings with changing rooms, several grass football and rugby pitches, and an astroturf pitch. Implement first aid, fire safety and health and safety regulations. Maintaining key authorisation registers and reporting faults.
  • Diary management - for the RAF sports associations and other users wishing to book the facilities and maintain a diary of those events. Provide a health and safety brief to the activity sponsors.
  • Liaising with other sections – Arranging for pitches to be cut and marked for matches. Booking gyms for indoor activities. Working closely with the commercial team who arrange for spare capacity of the facilities to be rented out to civilian organisations.
  • Preparing for events – setting up conference rooms, pitches, marking cross country courses, arranging the gym for events such as table tennis tournaments.
  • Equipment records – reconcile the inventory of all government funded equipment held. Arrange for the request, replacement and/or return of equipment as required.

 
This role is full time and based onsite at Halton.

 

Essential experience of the Sports Facilities Coordinator:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt style to engage and influence people from all backgrounds and at all levels.

Qualifications for the Sports Facilities Coordinator:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS/SC security clearance for this role.
