Site & Materials Coordinator
Auckland, NZ, 0624
Babcock is looking for a Site & Materials Coordinator to join the Delivery team based in Devonport, Auckland.
About the role
Help keep New Zealand’s naval fleet mission‑ready. As Site & Materials Coordinator at Babcock, you’ll be the operational heartbeat that gets the right people, plant, and parts to the right place—cranes, forklifts, EWPs, compressors, generators, site offices, ablutions and more—so maintenance happens safely, efficiently, and on schedule. You’ll collaborate across production, procurement, subcontractors and warehouses, balancing inventory, movements and site services while driving cost control and readiness.
Bring your continuous improvement mindset to streamline processes, deconflict daily activities, and lift HSE performance. In return, you’ll gain unique shipyard exposure, variety every day, and the satisfaction of tangible outcomes that matter to Aotearoa. If you back yourself to be curious, courageous, collaborative and to own & deliver, this role gives you scope to shine and grow.
About you
You keep complex sites humming. You’re a planner, organiser, and calm problem-solver who gets materials, cranes, and contractors where they need to be, safely and on time. You’re comfortable juggling shifting priorities, building rapport across production, procurement, and suppliers, and you hold yourself to high standards. You read a schedule, deconflict activities, and spot risks early. Computer-literate and HSE-minded, you thrive in regulated environments, respect Trade Controls, and are eligible for Defence vetting. You own outcomes and deliver with pride.

• Inventory and materials management across warehouses and worksites
• Scheduling and activity deconfliction to meet timelines
• Stakeholder communication and negotiation (production, procurement, subcontractors)
• HSE compliance, hazard identification, and risk management
• Analytical problem‑solving and continuous improvement mindset
• Computer literacy; register/document control and reporting
• Able to work autonomously and in a team; flexible hours

• Operational coordination: Able to manage site services, equipment, and logistics in a dynamic environment.
• Risk, safety & compliance mindset: Consistently applies HSE standards, identifies hazards, and mitigates risks.
