Service Technician - Automotive

About you

You will be experienced in an automotive / vehicle mechanic maintenance and ideally have a solid skill set working with modern vehicles. You will have either an appropriate Trade certificate or NZQA Level 2 (or equivalent) or at least 3 years work experience in vehicle mechanics. The team is collaborative and deliver an exceptional service and we would envisage you coming on board to already have a great work ethic, work well in a team environment and have the flexibility and willingness to work shifts.

 

About the role

As Air New Zealand’s trusted partner for Ground Support Equipment (GSE), our team deliver asset management solutions to drive reliability and efficiency improvements of equipment and provide significant long-term capability and cost benefits to our national airline. The workshop plays a key role in the maintenance and repair of ground servicing equipment at the airport, required to maintain airline operations.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Servicing experience ideally gained in either aviation, materials handling equipment, heavy vehicle, mining or heavy construction
  • Hydraulic experienced
  • Electrical vehicle and diagnostics experience although not essential, would be preferred. This includes up to date knowledge of vehicle installation techniques, an understanding of and ability to follow circuit diagrams for installation and fault-finding purposes along with Auto Electrical Installation experience
