Babcock is looking for a Senior Engineer (Supportability), to join the Availability, Reliability, Maintainability team based in Devonport, Auckland.
About the role
Join a team where engineering meets impact. As a Senior Engineer (Supportability), you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational readiness of the Royal New Zealand Navy fleet. You’ll lead Condition Based Monitoring trials, analyse vibration and thermographic data, and provide actionable insights that directly influence maintenance strategies. This is a hands-on, high-responsibility role where your technical expertise will shape the lifecycle support of critical marine systems.

You are a technically sharp, solutions-focused engineer with a passion for marine systems and lifecycle support. Key Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering (Washington Accord accredited), or equivalent recognised engineering qualification and subsequent experience.
• Eligibility for Professional Engineer membership via recognised body
• Desirable: ISO VCAT1, TCAT1, LCAT1 or equivalent certification
• Desirable: Marine Engineering Officer Certificate Class 3 or above / Navy engineering experience
