About the role
Join Babcock and play a pivotal role in keeping Aotearoa’s naval fleet ready, safe and operational. As a Project Scheduler, you’ll sit at the heart of complex marine engineering projects, shaping realistic plans, coordinating key milestones, and enabling our teams to deliver on time and with precision. Working alongside project, production and engineering specialists, you’ll help drive efficient refit activity across some of the country’s most critical defence assets.

About you
You bring a strong understanding of engineering environments and a natural ability to translate complexity into clear, actionable plans. You communicate confidently with varied stakeholders, stay calm under pressure, and consistently keep projects moving in the right direction. You’re proactive, detail‑driven and comfortable challenging the status quo to improve scheduling accuracy and project outcomes. You enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and take ownership of delivering high‑quality planning and project control outputs.
Key Required Skills
• Strong project scheduling and planning capability.
• Ability to manage resource demand and capacity.
• Effective communicator across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to influence and engage within teams.
• Competence in producing project reports and controls.
• Risk management awareness during planning and execution.
• High computer literacy with MS Office tools.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
Key Required Qualifications
• Relevant engineering trade or apprentice‑level qualification or recognised project management qualification.
• Experience working in teams delivering engineering outputs.
• Experience in engineering project environments (preferably marine or heavy industry).
• Experience producing engineering network schedules (desirable but advantageous).
