Babcock is looking for a Project Coordinator to join the Delivery team based in Devonport, Auckland.

 

About the role

 

As a pivotal member of our organization, you'll spearhead Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and ensure seamless project execution while upholding Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) protocols.

 

Your duties will encompass site supervision, activity coordination, scope management, and the timely, budget-conscious delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Efficiently manage Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) from inception to fruition.
  • Enforce rigorous adherence to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards on a daily basis.
  • Strategically plan and coordinate on-site activities to meet deadlines, budgetary constraints, and quality benchmarks.
  • Take ownership of project delivery, aligning with Project Management Plans and proactively mitigating risks.
  • Foster transparent communication and swift issue resolution, collaborating closely with stakeholders and Ship staff.
  • Streamline material schedules and prioritize Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA) for high-risk tasks.

 

About you

 

 

We are seeking an individual with a Tertiary Technical qualification (preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture) or relevant certification such as a trade qualification.

 

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant industrial experience, with a preference for those with Marine Engineering expertise. Strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interpret technical drawings are essential.

 

A sound knowledge of industrial Health & Safety requirements and physical fitness are also crucial for success in this role.

 

Required Skills

 

  • Relevant Trade Certificate or Engineering Degree
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication, alongside advanced MS Office skills.
  • Strong interpersonal aptitude for effective collaboration.
  • Thorough understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
  • High proficiency in technical drawing interpretation..
