Babcock is looking for a Weapons & Ordnance Technician to join the Technical Ops team based in Birkenhead Auckland.

Benefits
- Full-time/40+ hours per week
- $47.50 to $57.50ph (Relevant Experience Essential)
- 1.5x paid after 40hrs
- 2x paid after 43hrs
About you
You are a highly skilled technician with a passion for defence engineering. With expertise in weapons maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, you thrive in hands-on, problem-solving environments. Your keen eye for detail ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and you work well both independently and within a team. Adaptable and proactive, you’re always ready to tackle new challenges, whether managing routine maintenance or troubleshooting complex issues. Key Required Skills
- Weapons maintenance and repair expertise
- Fault diagnosis and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong technical documentation interpretation
- Compliance with safety and quality standards
- Testing and commissioning of weapon systems
- Effective teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to manage procurement and inventory tasks
- Knowledge of NZDF weapon systems
Key Required Qualifications
- Level 4 NZ Certificate in Electrotechnology, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Technology
- Phalanx Maintainer Course or equivalent
- NZ Driver’s Licence & Workplace First Aid
- RNZN Small Arms Course or equivalent experience
- Mk45 5” Gun Maintainer Course or equivalent experience
- EWRB Registration highly regarded.
