Babcock is looking for an HR Advisor to join the People team based in Devonport, Auckland on a 12-month maternity contract.

 

About the role

As a Human Resources Advisor, you'll be a crucial part of our team, offering invaluable HR advice, support, and consultancy to managers and employees. Your role will encompass managing all facets of HR, including employment relations, case management, performance management, conflict resolution, policy development, and relationship building with union representatives and senior leaders. This position is perfect for a proactive and skilled professional eager to foster a supportive and efficient workplace, driving our organization toward its strategic objectives.

 

In this role, you'll work closely with the HR Systems and Operations Manager to support corporate initiatives and complex case management. You will coach and mentor managers, assist with disciplinary investigations, and ensure effective HR policy application. Your ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships will be key in managing employment issues and enhancing HR practices across the organization.

About you

 

You are a dedicated and experienced HR professional with a knack for building strong relationships and managing complex HR scenarios. Your ability to navigate sensitive psychosocial matters with empathy and professionalism sets you apart. You excel in coaching and mentoring managers, ensuring they have the tools and guidance needed to manage their teams effectively. Your communication skills are top-notch, allowing you to connect with employees and union representatives seamlessly. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and always looking for ways to improve HR practices within the organization.

 

Key Required Skills

 

  • Extensive experience in case management.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with trade unions and senior leaders.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills for managers.
  • Expertise in conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in HR policy development and implementation.
  • Analytical skills for HR reporting and data analysis.
