HSEQ Advisor

Babcock is looking for a Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Advisor (HSEQ) Advisor to join the team on an 18-month fixed-term contract.

As a key player in our Corporate Services team, you'll champion initiatives, lead investigations, and contribute to continuous improvement, making a lasting impact on the organization's success.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of HSEQ management systems, initiatives, and projects to enhance the overall HSEQ culture and performance.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality to create a workplace free from incidents, discrimination, and harassment.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment by assisting in hazard identification, operational risk assessments, and the development of improvement and incident reduction plans.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of HSEQ training and education programs, including induction training, HSEQ Management Systems, and other key initiatives.
  • Participate in and facilitate incident investigations, lead investigations as directed, and ensure proper reporting, recording, monitoring, and closure of incidents.

 

About you

 

The ideal candidate for this role holds a Nebosh Internal General Certificate, possesses formal investigation and lead auditor training, and demonstrates a deep commitment to HSEQ.

 

With excellent communication skills and a service-oriented mindset, the perfect applicant brings a proven track record in maintaining safety standards and driving continuous improvement. Proficiency in MS Office, strong writing abilities, and experience in quality management are highly desirable.

Key Required Skills

 

  • Nebosh Internal General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Risk Management or equivalent.
  • Formal investigation training, such as ICAM, Learning From Incidents (LFI).
  • Formal lead or internal auditor training in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSMS systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong service-oriented approach.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with good writing and reporting skills.
