Babcock is looking for a Fabricator Welder to join the Boilershop team based in Devonport, Auckland.

Hourly rates

 

  • $44+ per hour (trade cert essential)
  • 1.5x paid after 40hrs
  • 2x paid after 43hrs

You are a skilled and detail-oriented fabricator with a passion for working on complex, hands-on projects. You excel in operating heavy machinery like CNC cutters and hydraulic presses, and you’re adept at TIG, MIG, and Stick welding. Your experience in fabricating with a variety of materials, combined with your ability to follow engineering drawings and problem-solve, sets you apart. If you’re ready to work in a dynamic environment and take on new challenges, this role is the perfect fit for you.

 

Key Required Skills

 

  • Heavy fabrication of materials like steel, aluminium, and copper nickel.
  • Proficient in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding for ferrous/non-ferrous materials.
  • Skilled in using CNC profile cutters, hydraulic presses, and guillotines.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and mock-up techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, technical environment.

 

Key Required Qualifications

 

  • Trade Certificate (Level 4) in Fabrication is essential
  • 5+ years of experience in marine or industrial heavy fabrication.
