Babcock is looking for a Qualified Electrician to join the Electrical team based in Devonport, Auckland.

Join a high-performing electrical team at Babcock, based at the Devonport Naval Base, working on cutting-edge industrial and marine systems. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to national defence operations and commercial projects, installing, repairing, and maintaining systems that matter—while backed by a tight-knit, safety-focused, and innovative crew. Predominantly working on board Navy ships day to day, provides a dynamic workplace where no two days are the same.

Role Benefits
- Full-time/40+ hours per week
- $46 - $56ph (Trade Cert & Full EWRB Registration Essential)
- 1.5x paid after 40hrs
- 2x paid after 43hrs
- Guaranteed pay rise from 7th July 2025
About you
You’re a licensed electrical technician with solid hands-on experience across generating, distribution, and control systems. You thrive in diverse environments—from naval bases to commercial sites—and you take pride in precision and professionalism. You’re a great communicator, a reliable team player, and you solve problems fast. Safety and quality are second nature, and you’re always up for learning something new or mentoring a teammate. If you’re ready to tackle technical challenges head-on, you’ll thrive in this dynamic, purpose-driven role.
Key Required Skills
- Electrical installation and troubleshooting
- System calibration and testing
- Use of diagnostic tools
- Fibre optic knowledge (advantageous)
- Report writing and technical documentation
- Time management and task prioritisation

- Continuous improvement and mentoring mindset
Key Required Qualifications
- National Certificate of Engineering (Level 4) or equivalent
- Full Electrical Practicing Licence (NZ)
- Safety compliance training (e.g. working at heights, confined spaces)
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Assurance systems
