Babcock is looking for a Commercial Officer to join the Commercial team based in Devonport, Auckland.

As a Commercial Officer within Babcock’s MFSS unit, you’ll contribute directly to high-impact projects and business operations. Your role ensures smooth procurement and legal processes, effective supplier onboarding, and robust governance practices. From maintaining contracts to supporting tenders, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment where your attention to detail and initiative are valued.

About you

 

You are a confident communicator with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for organisation. You enjoy working independently but thrive when collaborating with teams. With a background in commercial or procurement environments, you understand the importance of good governance, clear documentation, and timely delivery. You take pride in maintaining compliance, contributing to successful bids, and building reliable internal and external partnerships. If you enjoy juggling priorities and safeguarding processes, this is the role for you.

Key Required Qualifications

 

  • 2+ years in commercial, legal secretary, procurement, or governance roles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Tertiary/Diploma/Bachelor’s in Business, Law, Commerce, or Finance
  • Knowledge of defence contracting (Australian/NZ context preferred)
