Care and Custody Logistics Officer

Babcock is looking for a Logistics Officer to join the Supply Chain team based in Devonport, Auckland.

 

About the role

 

Play a critical role supporting NZDF operational readiness by owning the care, custody and control of onboard stores. This role sits at the heart of naval maintenance, ensuring the right materials are available, compliant and accurately accounted for when they matter most. If you enjoy responsibility, structure and working close to operations, this role offers real impact.

 

You’ll also provide integrated logistics and warehouse support across multiple sites, working with modern ERP systems and strict safety standards. From hazardous materials handling to supporting destore and regeneration activities, no two days are the same. Youll be trusted to work independently, solve problems endtoend and contribute to continuous improvement within a highly professional defence environment.

 

About you

 

You are an organised, handson logistics professional who thrives in complex environments. You take pride in accuracy, ownership and supporting operational readiness. You communicate clearly, work calmly under pressure and know how to balance compliance with practicality. You enjoy working independently while contributing positively to a closeknit team. With marine or defence exposure, you value safety, organisation and continuous improvement, and you follow issues through until resolved. You are comfortable using ERP systems and adapting quickly to operational change requirements.

Key Required Qualifications

 

  • Solid experience in warehousing and logistics
  • Marine logistics or defence environment experience
  • Current clean NZ driver’s licence (F endorsement preferred)
  • Legal right to work in New Zealand and baseline security clearance
