About the Role

Babcock is seeking a talented Business Intelligence Developer to join our team in New Zealand. Based at the Devonport Naval Base and reporting into our IXI and Application Services Team Leader, this full‑time role offers the opportunity to transform data into meaningful insights that drive smarter decisions across our business.

As a BI Developer, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and deploying solutions that turn complex information into clear, actionable knowledge. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver reports, dashboards, and analytics that support critical operations. Alongside developing new tools and solutions, you’ll also maintain and improve existing systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure our platforms remain robust and effective.

This is a role where your technical expertise meets impact. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, contributing to projects that support Babcock’s mission while continuing to grow your skills in a dynamic environment. To be successful, you will bring:

  • Legally entitled to work in New Zealand and capable of obtaining a New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) Security Clearance.
  • Qualification in Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Science or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a BI Developer, Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or in a related domain.
  • Familiarity with established BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, Crystal Reports, or Cognos).
  • Ability to design and develop high-quality visualizations that drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, DAX, Power Query, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is an advantage.
  • Understanding of database management systems and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) frameworks.
