You will play a key role in growing our contracts and building strong customer relationships, implementing our ambitious strategy.

We are looking for a dynamic, ambitious and commercially aware Project Engineer to join our high performing team. You will be responsible for technical activities in the Electronic Repair Facility (ERF) for electrical/ electronic testing, selection of specifications, fault diagnosis, interpretation of test results, test equipment suitability.

Operating within the ERF, the role is to undertake electrical and electronic repair activities including:

• Screen, Repair and Test (SRT) of printed circuit cards, radio frequency (RF) assemblies and electro-technical sub-assemblies.
• Test interfaces and automated control software.
• Perform diagnostic checks, identification and repair of faults on defective units (analogue, digital, RF assemblies).
• Report technical problems encountered during production and test.
• Create data for analysis to determine root causes and identify shortcomings and improvements.
• Performing tasks from concept through to implementation to defined safety standards, cost, programme and quality.

• Knowledge of relevant standards (DEF STAN/ BS EN/ BR) for electrical/ electronic testing.
• Experienced in electrical/ electronic fault diagnosis and repair.
• Competent at performing root cause analysis and FMECA studies.
• Work as part of a Multi-disciplined team.
• Comprehensive working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of tools including SharePoint, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Integration test and repair of  RF Communications Telecommunications systems

• Able to supervise, co-ordinate or work within a team, providing guidance where appropriate.
• Candidates must be driven to complete tasks to the benefit of the project for time, cost and quality.
• Candidates must have a strong H&S ethic.
• A flexible approach and able to adapt quickly to work flow change in order to meet equipment availability targets.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication skills.
• Able to fault find and recommend repair requirements
• Good attention to detail, meticulous and systematic
• Ability to assess risk
• Strong organisational skills
• Self-motivated and willing to work independently
• Can work under pressure
• Good communication skills both verbally and written
• Able to form good working relationships with both other employees and clients


Education and qualifications


• Full UK driving licence
