Main purpose of role
We’re looking for a motivated individual who is dynamic, ambitious and diligent with a desire to make an impact within our team and to keep our premises secure.
Information Systems is a thriving and growing business unit within Defence Systems Technology (DST). We are transforming and we need you to support us in forging new paths, and contributing as we grow through exciting, but sometimes challenging change. As we grow our business we have a new premises that requires 24/7 cover. As one of our security team you will be working within a small team to provide out of hours presence at our Tewkesbury site.
You will secure premises with regular patrolling of property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment and access points; permitting entry if required

You will Obtain help by sounding alarms and prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing staff and visitors of policy and procedures; deterring trespassers.
You will also be involved in maintaining the environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls, compiling reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities ensuring operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.

Other duties include:
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
• Provide excellent customer service
• Adhere to all company service and operating standards
• Respond to emergencies to provide necessary assistance to employees and customers
• Protect the company's assets from theft, malicious damage, fire and other safety issues
• Initial point of contact with first responders

Who we’re looking for
You’re someone who brings innovative ideas and solves problems with simple and elegant solutions. The role will be open to any candidate who has the necessary skills but haven’t yet had that job opportunity.
 Previous security experience would be advantageous, or previous military service demonstrating required skill set.

Education and qualifications:
GCSE - Maths, English
Relevant qualifications desirable i.e. BTEC Level 3 Security Management


What else do I need to know?
• The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving ‘Security Check’ (SC) clearance.
