The role

As a Armourer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll inspect, service, repair and overhaul of weapons and armour systems, assemblies and general equipment to meet the production needs of the Army.

Day to day, you’ll carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the job card in accordance with the customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, processes and other approved technical publications, diagnose, inspect and assess weapon systems, vehicles and associated mechanical / electrical / armour equipment in line with skills and competency.

• Report near miss and accidents to Supervisor for escalation in a timely manner, in accordance with HSE policy.
• Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the job card in accordance with the customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, processes and other approved technical publications.
• Diagnose, inspect and assess weapon systems, vehicles and associated mechanical / electrical / armour equipment in line with skills & competency.
• Completion of vehicle and equipment documentation and test certificates / reports to current standards.

Essential experience of the Armourer:

• Experienced gun fitter or armour  
• Ex-service background 
• Currently holds or has the ability to obtain SC security clearance 

Qualifications for the Armourer:

• NVQ Level three

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
