Location- RAF Valley

Contract - Permanent

 

This role acts as the program Scheduler for Ascent Flight Training at RAF Valley, by using a Training Management Information System (TMIS) to produce an efficient schedule of all AJT output on a busy RAF Fast Jet Squadron.

This role also acts as the Duty Scheduler in Air Operations on AJT to oversee the delivery of the daily training schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce an efficient daily training plan that encompasses all flying, synthetic and ground training events in accordance with Ascent AJT Training Manger’s priorities
  • Actively manage the AJT daily training programme from within the Air Operations cell. Proactively identifying opportunities for further training throughout the day as the programme changes.
  • Ensure the Ascent AJT flying schedule and other relevant data is recorded in a timely and accurate fashion through EFIS, the SuperROG (or similar data tool) and Obligation Sheets.
  • Ensure the Ascent Training Managers and ITLOC are made aware of prioritisation changes and events affecting the current and future programme.
  • Uphold partnering behaviours and participate in events as required
  • Uphold adherence to the Health, Safety & Environmental Polices and Air Safety responsibilities

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience of military fast jet or related flying operations.
  • Good problem solving, mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Computer fluency to include Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and Explorer.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to perform to the highest of standards with the minimum of direct supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communicator
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a military environment across a diverse rank structure
  • The ability to adopt a flexible 40 hour working week around core flying windows of 07:45 – 18:45 Mon-Thurs, 07:45-17:45 Fri
  • Flexibility to night flying period.  12:00 - 23:59 Mon-Thurs.

 

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the production of military flying or ground training schedules
  • Flight operations delivery
