About the Role


Are you ready to take on a role that merges technical expertise with a mission of national significance? Babcock is seeking a talented Trade Controls Specialist to join our Adelaide team, a great chance to develop your career in a growing industry!
 

In this position, you'll become an integral part of the team supporting H&B Defence, a joint venture between Babcock and HII, dedicated the development of critical sovereign capability for the once-in-a-generation AUKUS nuclear-powered submarine program. Your expertise in export control compliance will be at the heart of ensuring our operations adhere to global trade regulations, with a key focus on U.S. International Trade of Arms Regulations (ITAR).

You'll lead the charge on compliance processes, advise on licensing requirements, and collaborate with stakeholders across the board to safeguard our business's integrity. Whether it's evaluating security frameworks, coordinating corrective action plans, or enhancing project governance, your role will be pivotal in our success and growth.

To be successful, you will bring:
 

  • Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of Australian, U.K. and U.S. export controls.
  • Bachelor’s degree in law, commerce or business (highly desirable).
  • Exemplary communication skills with an ability to build positive working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
