About the Role

As a Support Engineering Technician at Babcock, you will play a key role in supporting the engineering and maintenance functions for the Australian Defence Force’s (ADF) Ground Support Equipment (GSE) assets and associated repairable items.

Working as part of a high-performing and efficient Technical Services team, your efforts will directly contribute to the sustainment of the ADF’s GSE fleets by ensuring technical integrity, maintenance regimes, spare parts management, and technical publications are effectively maintained and optimised.

You will assist Fleet Managers with a variety of technical tasks to maintain ADF capability, monitor the performance of external maintenance providers, support contract reporting requirements, and contribute to projects under guidance.



About You

You are a motivated and technically minded professional with a passion for supporting complex engineering operations in a Defence context.

Your ability to apply technical discipline knowledge—alongside your attention to detail and strong organisational skills—enables you to effectively support engineering processes, ensure product safety considerations are met, and contribute to developing sustainable and innovative solutions.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to build strong working relationships across technical teams, Defence operating units, and external partners.

Your proactive mindset, dedication to learning, and ability to support both business development and operational delivery make you an integral contributor to Babcock’s ongoing mission to support Australia’s Defence capabilities.

 

To be successful in this position you will bring:

 

·         An understanding of engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation, and analysis software)

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Strong computer skills.

·         Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results
