About the Role

 

Babcock is on the lookout for a dynamic Senior Manager – Subcontracts to join our Defence High Frequency Communications System Contract (DHFCS). This is your chance to play a pivotal role in advancing Australia’s Defence High Frequency Communications capability across multiple sites.

 

This leadership role will see you providing high-level expertise in commercial strategy, procurement, subcontracting, and bid support.  You will drive the preparation and execution of tender and contractual strategies, manage subcontract agreements, and oversee commercial aspects of bids, tenders, and procurement operations.

 

Beyond the technical responsibilities, this role offers an opportunity to lead, mentor, and collaborate with key stakeholders, ensuring optimal integration between delivery, financial models, and contractual frameworks. You will be instrumental in shaping commercial decisions, negotiating complex agreements, and contributing to Babcock’s continuous improvement initiatives.

To be successful, you will bring:

 

  • Australian Citizen with a Defence Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • Degree/Bachelor/Master’s in Business, Commence, Law or similar.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial, contracts, subcontracts, procurement, supply-chain engagement and business management.
  • Relevant experience in Defence or other high-risk industries.
  • Experience of engaging with national and international customers and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of managing trade controls compliance including importing and exporting.
