About the Role

Babcock, a leader in providing comprehensive solutions, is seeking a Purchasing Officer to support our Qantas contract. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to transforming Qantas' Ground Support Equipment (GSE) fleet and enhancing operational efficiency.

 

As a Purchasing Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering timely and compliant performance while managing relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers. Your contributions will help drive continuous improvement across purchasing processes, ensuring long-term benefits for both Babcock and Qantas.
 

In this role, you'll be responsible for conducting performance reviews, improving procedures, managing purchase orders, invoicing, and ensuring the timely receipt and delivery of goods. You'll work closely with suppliers, ensuring on-time deliveries, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting the smooth operation of the business. Additionally, you'll assist with contractor management and support stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes.

To be successful, you will bring:
 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain and/ or Logistics or suitable experience that provides similar competencies.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Computer literate and skilled in the use of MS Office software (Word, Excel, etc) and ERP.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills to achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Strong Relationship Management Skills.
  • Experience working in a commercial aviation environment (Desirable).
  • Australian Citizenship.
