About the Role

As we enter a period of significant organisational growth, we are seeking a Controller and Planner to join our team to support the mobilisation of a new program for our Australian operations. Working in close partnership with the Major Programs Director, and the Senior Program Manager, you will support the process of establishing, implementing and maintaining an integrated performance measurement baseline (PMB); an earned value management system (EVMS); and contract master schedule (CMS) for the program.  

 

 

  • Establish and maintain of an integrated PMB for the program in terms of cost and schedule that supports Integrated Baseline Reviews.
  • Establish and maintain an EVMS that complies with the requirements defined in AS 4817, the Defence Supplement to AS 4817, and the approved EVM Plan.
  • Establish and maintain an integrated CMS that incorporates information from our subcontractors and complies with DEF(AUST) 5664A – Work Breakdown Structures for Defence Material Projects
  • Establish and maintain the program WBS dictionary, Responsibility Assignment Matrix, and Cost Accounts.
  • Provide schedule analysis including resource and critical path analysis. 
  • Review cost and schedule health (Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis) to ensure adherence to governance policies.
  • Support CA Managers with cost account status reporting, variance analysis and forecasts.

 

About You

The successful candidate will have experience in applying principles, concepts, practices and standards of scheduling and EVM principles, in particular, Critical Path and Baseline Control and ideally possess the following:

 

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, accounting, or similar discipline. Preferably with CPA/CA status;
  • Intermediate to advanced skills and experience in the use of MS Office and other relevant software packages and applications (MS Project, Deltek Open Plan Professional, Deltek Cobra, etc.);
  • Experience as a cost controller and/or modeller with strong analytical and problem solving skills; and
  • Ability to prepare, analyse, and interpret complex reports and management information.
