Operations Officer
Adelaide, SA, AU, 5000
- Supportive and agile working environment
- CBD Location
- Fixed term to August 2027
About you
Have you always wanted to be part of the aviation world? Do you bring recent experience from a large, complex organisation and the confidence to operate with clarity, professionalism, and strong communication skills? If so, this role will give you the chance to put those strengths to work every day.
You’ll take pride in providing practical solutions, adjusting arrangements as needed, and staying relentlessly focused on outcomes. Your sharp attention to detail and accuracy in data entry will ensure smooth operations and visible results. This is also a space where your ideas matter — you’ll have the opportunity to openly share suggestions that improve processes, streamline procedures, and enhance the way we work.
Most importantly, you’ll bring a solid understanding of Enterprise Agreements and contractual terms and conditions, ideally gained within an aviation‑related environment. Your ability to interpret and apply these frameworks will be key to supporting both the business and our people.
About the Role
This position is an exciting opportunity to launch and grow your career in aviation. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in providing operational and administrative support to employees across Babcock Aviation and Mission Critical Services.
As the Operations Officer, you’ll work closely with the wider team to keep day‑to‑day operations running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll be the person who helps connect the moving parts — supporting staff, coordinating activities, and ensuring our aviation operations are organised, accurate, and ready to perform.
This is a role where you’ll learn fast, contribute meaningfully, and be part of a team that values professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
The variety of this role means no two days are ever the same. You’ll manage operational rosters, domestic and international travel, uniform requests and assist in the induction and planning of new employees. You’ll assist in the support of all Aircraft on ground (AOG), emergency response plans and importantly alert the team to potential or known problems that could impact the delivery of this service.
With your strong written and verbal communication skills, you’ll provide professional, reliable support across all our Australian locations. Your solid understanding of Enterprise Agreements, combined with well‑developed MS Office skills, will make you a valuable partner to both the team and the wider business. You’ll bring accuracy, consistency, and a proactive approach to every task — helping us deliver smooth, efficient operations every day.
This position is based at our Franklin Street Head Office in Adelaide and we offer flexible working arrangements. Enquire and we can come to a mutually agreeable arrangement.
