About the Role

 

As a Management Accountant at Babcock, you’ll play a key role in supporting financial performance across our Aviation business. Working closely with the Finance Manager and Senior Finance Manager, you’ll deliver accurate monthly reporting, insightful analysis, and reliable financial information that supports decision‑making and drives operational outcomes.

You’ll analyse monthly results, update forecasts, prepare and review customer invoices, and help the business understand its financial performance, opportunities, and risks. This is a role where your technical capability and commercial mindset will directly influence how we plan, operate, and grow.

 

About You

 

You’re a motivated and detail‑oriented finance professional who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and supporting stakeholders with clear, meaningful insights.

You bring foundational accounting knowledge, strong commercial awareness, and the confidence to communicate financial implications in a way that supports effective decision‑making. You’re organised, curious, and eager to grow your skills — particularly in analysis and Excel — while contributing to a high‑performing finance team.

 

To be successful in this position you will bring:

  • A degree in Accounting or Finance

  • A desire to commence or continue CA/CPA studies

  • Foundational accounting knowledge and strong commercial acumen

  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain financial impacts

  • Strong planning and time‑management capability

  • A growth mindset and willingness to take on challenges

  • An interest in developing advanced Excel skills

 

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems such as IFS or SAP
