About the role

Babcock, a leader in the Defence and Aerospace industry is looking for a HR Advisor to join our new dynamic HR Advisory Team!
 

In this role, you will be a key player in supporting our People Strategy for Australasia. You will coach and provide quality advice and support to leaders and employees, becoming the first line of contact between them and the broader People and People Services Teams. You will respond to general and operational HR enquiries or take on assigned work, ensuring everyone feels supported and empowered.
 

This is your chance to dive into a generalist role where no two days are the same. You'll build relationships with stakeholders from all corners of the business, and you will always be challenged and engaged. From advising on employment issues and supporting change initiatives to interpreting employment legislation and preparing insightful HR strategy reports and drafting policies and procedures, you'll be at the heart of making Babcock a great place to work.

To be successful, you will bring:
 

  • Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • Post secondary qualification in Human Resources.
  • Experience interpreting legislation, regulations, Awards and Industrial Agreements together with policy and procedures to provide high quality and pragmatic HR advice.
  • Experience in supporting both disciplinary processes and the management of employee matters.
  • Experience working with Unions is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, consulting and interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and proven ability in developing trusted business relationships at all levels to gain support and influence outcomes.
  • Strong research, analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills; questioning and curious mindset.
