About the Role

Babcock continues to grow across Australasia, and we’re now looking for a Group Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Lead to join our expanding team on a 12 month contract. This is a key role that strengthens our security governance framework and ensures we continue to meet the high standards expected across our Defence and critical services programs.

As the GRC Lead, you’ll play a central part in embedding strong compliance and risk practices into projects, system designs and organisational change. You’ll help maintain our security certifications and accreditations, guide the development of policies and control frameworks, and work closely with teams across the business to ensure we meet regulatory and customer expectations.

You’ll take ownership of audit and accreditation activities, support the creation and maintenance of security policies, and monitor the effectiveness of security controls across a range of environments. The role also involves conducting risk assessments, shaping risk treatment plans and ensuring our solutions are secure by design before they go live.

If you’re someone who enjoys working across complex programs, influencing secure outcomes and helping an organisation maintain strong governance foundations, this role offers the chance to make a real impact in a growing, mission‑driven business.

To be successful, you will bring

  • Australian Citizen with a Defence Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related field and/or or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience with the applying and auditing Australian Security Frameworks:

    • Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF)
    • Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF)
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting security policies and standards.
