About the Role
 

Babcock is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Corporate Services Finance team. In this role, you will support the Accounts Receivable function by ensuring timely billings to customers and related entities and managing effective credit control activities. You will be integral to our team, performing daily bank reconciliations and preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, while providing essential support and guidance to other business units within Babcock.
 

Your responsibilities will include processing customer orders, sales invoices, debtor management, and associated reporting. You will handle daily bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and initiate and process general journal entries. Ensuring compliance with company policies, maintaining accurate financial records, and providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders are key aspects of this role. Additionally, you will recommend improvements to processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

You will bring:
 

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA) or studying toward.
  • Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word).
  • Experience processing multiple currency / FX transactions.
  • Experience with IFS.
  • Australian Citizen with a Defence Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
