About the Role

Babcock Australasia is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our Australian Defence Force Ground Support Equipment (ADFGSE) contract. This is a full‑time, permanent role based in Adelaide, where you’ll be part of a high‑performing Technical Services Team supporting the strategic asset management of the ADF’s GSE fleet.

In this role, you’ll support engineering and maintenance activities for Ground Support Equipment assets and repairable items, ensuring technical integrity as changes are made to maintenance regimes, parts, and publications. You’ll contribute to sustaining the fleet by applying your technical knowledge to investigations, assessments, and solutions, while also engaging with stakeholders across Defence and industry.

Working closely with technical specialists and leaders, you’ll help deliver innovative engineering outcomes, maintain accurate technical documentation, and provide support through our Service Desk rotation. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll develop your skills across the engineering lifecycle, contribute to process improvements, and play a part in strengthening Australia’s Defence capability.

At Babcock, you’ll be joining a global organisation trusted to deliver critical services. We offer a collaborative environment, opportunities for growth, and the chance to make a meaningful impact through sustainable and innovative solutions.

If you’re ready to take on a role where your technical expertise supports mission‑critical operations, we’d love to hear from you.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Technical vocational qualification/certificate in related discipline.
  • Previous experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
  • An understanding of applicable engineering/maintenance management toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, Enterprise Resource Planning, simulation and analysis software).
  • An understanding of Maintenance Requirements Determination and Logistics Support Analysis preferably in the Defence environment.
