About the Role
As an Engineering Technician within Babcock’s Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Asset Management Services (AMS) organisation, you will play a critical role in supporting the engineering and maintenance of Australian Defence Force (ADF) GSE assets and associated Repairable Items.
Working as part of a high-performing Technical Services Team, you’ll help sustain the ADF’s GSE fleet by maintaining technical integrity as updates are made to parts, publications, and maintenance regimes.
Reporting to the Technical Team Lead, you will be responsible for delivering Engineering and Maintenance Services while developing your technical knowledge across the engineering product lifecycle.
Your daily activities will range from analysing engineering change requests and defect reports, to supporting the on-call Service Desk function and ensuring accuracy of maintenance plans, technical records, and approved spares.
About You
You are a technically minded professional with a passion for engineering, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
You bring a sound understanding of technical analysis and the ability to interpret and manage complex engineering data. You are confident in your ability to investigate issues, assess safety and maintenance implications, and contribute to engineering solutions that support Defence capability.
With strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, you thrive in a team environment and enjoy building productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Your attention to detail, commitment to quality, and drive to develop your skills will make you a valued member of the Technical Services Team as we work together to support the operational readiness of the ADF’s GSE fleet.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
· Proven experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
· An understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software).
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results
· Experience working within a System Program Office (SPO) type environment.
· Knowledge of ERP and the Maintenance Module.
· Ability to interpret and conduct work in accordance with the Electronic Supply Chain Manual.
