About You

You are an accomplished finance professional with proven experience in managing complex financial operations within large corporate environments. You have the ability to partner with non‑financial managers, translating financial data into meaningful insights that drive decision‑making and business outcomes. Your strong technical and numerical skills are matched by your commercial acumen and attention to detail, enabling you to deliver accurate analysis and recommendations. You are confident in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, and you bring a thorough understanding of accounting standards, tax requirements, and ERP systems such as SAP or IFS. With CA or CPA status and a background in Defence or similarly complex industries, you are ready to contribute to a mission‑focused organisation that values integrity, accountability, and excellence.

 

About the Role

This is a potential opportunity to join H&B Defence as a Finance Manager, where you will provide business partnering support to the Supplier Uplift Programs under AUKUS through close engagement with Program Managers, functional leads, and key customers. You will play a central role in supporting business growth opportunities by implementing financial structures for new contracts and ensuring effective reporting frameworks are in place. The role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring financial decision support systems, preparing and analysing monthly financial statements, and delivering accurate analysis to senior leadership in pursuit of strategic and commercial objectives.

You will be responsible for safeguarding company assets through strong financial controls, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with finance rules and procedures. In addition, you will contribute to pricing assessments, risk management, and the continuous improvement of financial processes. This position requires interstate and overseas travel and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a mission‑driven environment where collaboration, safety, and excellence are paramount.
