Who we are


Babcock International Group, the aerospace and defence company, has been trusted to deliver bespoke, highly skilled engineering services for over a century.


In Spain, we manage air emergency medical services (EMS), air search and rescue (SAR) and air firefighting operations. We operate from 90 bases across the country and provide a complete service for our regional government customers, including our highly experienced air medical personnel, pilots and aeronautical engineers.


About the role


We are currently inviting applications from qualified Helicopter Pilot and Co-Pilot.  The opportunity is for the Fire Fighting Campaign.


Babcock operates more than 100 firefighting aircraft, including helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, along with managing the Italian government's 19 amphibious firefighting aircraft. With this variety of fleets, Babcock offers a full range of firefighting missions, including water drops, ground transport of firefighters, mission coordination and real-time image collection for command and control centres.


About You


The successful candidate must satisfy the following contract minimum qualifications and experience:


  • EASA CPL (H) or ATPL (H) License.
  • Current or renewable class 1 medical examination.
  • For foreign pilots command of the EASA language in Spanish level 4 or higher.


  • For PIC:
    • At least 500 flight hours as pilot-in-command in firefighting operations. Demonstrable.
    • At least 3 campaigns of experience in the operation of LCI. Demonstrable.


  • For PRI (co-pilot):
    • At least 70 flight hours as pilot-in-command or have had a type rating in multi-engine helicopters.
    • In case of not complying with the previous point, having passed the theoretical subjects ATPL (H).

In addition, compliance with the following requirements will be assessed:

  • Bell212/412 qualification in force or other models.
  • Experience in work with external load.
  • Qualification for IFR flight.
  • LCI approved training certificate.
  • HUET certificate.
  • Experience in other operations.
