About the role  
 

As the Payroll Manager at Babcock, you will lead our Australian Payroll Services Team, driving continuous improvement in payroll quality and efficiency across all business units.

 

Your role will be critical in ensuring payroll operations comply with industrial, legislative, and statutory requirements, while delivering accurate and timely payroll data to both employees and the business.

 

With a strategic and process-driven approach, you will identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, enhance reporting and analysis, and develop clear and effective documentation. You will also take the lead in leadership and development, ensuring your team is well-supported and equipped to succeed.

 

Additionally, you will contribute to payroll-related projects, collaborating with stakeholders across the business to drive compliance, efficiency, and service excellence.

 

About you   
 

To succeed in this role, you will have a strong background in payroll management and a deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance. You are a proactive leader with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team while ensuring consistency across payroll operations.

 

Your analytical mindset enables you to research, interpret, and apply payroll regulations effectively. You have experience with process improvement, reporting, and documentation development, along with the ability to manage payroll-related projects.

 

You thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional payroll services that support both employees and business objectives.

 

 

To be successful in this position you will bring:

 

  • Extensive experience in Payroll and/or Accounting
  • Demonstrated experience in the leadership and management
  • Experience with payroll system interface and integration.
  • Experience interpreting Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and Contracts
  • Experience with electronic payroll systems and payroll implementation projects, preferably SAP Success Factors or similar.
  • Proven experience in payroll services management, including knowledge of Australian payroll legislation.
