About the role

 

We are building a pipeline of exceptional candidates who are keen to join the Babcock team and to do this, we’re seeking expressions of interest for future opportunities.

 

Upcoming opportunities will include Aircrew Officers on a Fixed Base and Touring basis to join our Aviation & Critical Services team.  These roles will support State Health Department and Border Force customers and will be offered as full-time, permanent fixed-base or touring positions under the terms of the Aircrew EBA.

 

As part of this role you will:

 

  • Conduct safe flight operations complying with CASA, contractual and company policies and procedures;
  • Report promptly on all operations and maintenance deficiencies;
  • Complete pre-flight and post-flight documentation;
  • Provide accurate visual observation and information to the Pilot of flight relevant data including clearances, personnel movements and flight safety related issues;
  • Maintain continuous and immediate readiness of operational role equipment;
  • Employ and install role equipment;
  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance and inspection of base and role equipment;
  • Conduct aircraft flight preparation and post-flight husbandry;
  • Ensure security and safe configuration of cabin and equipment.

 

About You

 

The successful candidate will have:

 

  • CAO 29:11 Certificate of Competency in Winching and Rappelling Operations;
  • 500 hours of rotor wing aircrew officer experience;
  • Current CASA Class II Medical Certificate;
  • Current Advanced Resuscitation Certificate;
  • HUET Qualified;
  • Aircraft Radiotelephone Operator Certificate of Proficiency;
  • NVG Aircrew endorsement I.A.W CAO 82.6; and
  • Certificate IV Aviation AVI40116 (Aircrewman).
