About the Role

As a Project Manager at Babcock, you will take ownership of the JP9101 Legacy Software Support contract, managing all aspects of delivery across time, cost, and quality. You will play a pivotal role in coordinating with other JP9101 contract leads and ensuring all services meet Babcock and Commonwealth quality standards. Your ability to plan, schedule, and oversee software projects will be key to ensuring successful outcomes that align with technical, regulatory, and contractual requirements.

You will lead and motivate a team of internal and contractor resources, driving operational excellence through strategic resource management and continuous improvement initiatives. From managing complex software integrations and data security to supporting business change and user readiness, this role demands a balance of technical understanding, leadership capability, and meticulous project control.

About You

You are an experienced Project Manager with a proven ability to deliver complex technical projects in a structured and high-stakes environment. Ideally, you will bring a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle or demonstrate the ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts. Your strong planning, coordination, and stakeholder management skills enable you to keep projects on track while maintaining clear communication and accountability across all levels of the business.

You are a confident leader who thrives in managing multidisciplinary teams and balancing competing priorities. With a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, you proactively identify opportunities to enhance processes and outcomes. Your strategic mindset and commitment to excellence will ensure you contribute meaningfully to Babcock’s mission of delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality software support services to our Defence partners.

To be successful in this position you will bring:

• Minimum of five years’ demonstratable project management experience.
• Experienced IT or Software professional focused on being part of a cost effective and efficient project delivery team.
• Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of implementing and delivering large projects in complex environments within Budget and Timescales using structured Project Methodology.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of current IT technology and/or software development cycle.
• Ability to present complex software projects to a non-technical audience.
