About you
You are a seasoned project controls professional with a strong grasp of planning, scheduling, and risk management in complex environments. With hands-on experience using tools like Primavera P6 and Saffran, you bring analytical precision and strategic foresight to every project. You’re confident engaging with key Commonwealth stakeholders and thrive in governance-focused settings, supporting project managers through workshops and structured control processes.
Your qualifications in Earned Value Management and Project Risk Management are backed by extensive, recent experience across diverse project lifecycles. You understand the nuances of different contracting methodologies and are driven by outcomes, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
About the role
As the Project Controls Manager, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for delivering robust project control services across complex acquisition programs. You’ll ensure consistent application of governance, processes, and tools to support project, program, and portfolio delivery.
Acting as a strategic partner to project and program managers, you’ll provide expert guidance on planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management, and performance reporting. This role requires a confident leader who can drive integrated project delivery across functions, manage stakeholder expectations, and foster continuous improvement in a dynamic and high-stakes environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage a team of project controls specialists, providing mentorship and ensuring succession planning.
- Establish and maintain project control governance, processes, and procedures aligned with Babcock and Commonwealth requirements.
- Develop and manage integrated project baselines covering scope, cost, schedule, and risk.
- Oversee scheduling, cost management, change control, risk and opportunity analysis, and document management.
To be successful you will bring:
- Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Commonwealth Security Clearance.
- A bachelor's degree in project management or A bachelor’s degree in related field or A diploma in project management.
- Identifying improvement ideas as well as developing and leading identified improvement opportunities
