About the position:
We are seeking an Engineering Lab Coordinator to join our team High Frequency Communications team and further strengthen our delivery. You will enjoy the opportunity to collaborate and in leading by example, you encourage the team to do the same.
About you:
The Engineering Lab Coordinator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and controlled operation of the Engineering Development Laboratory. In this position, you will ensure the laboratory, server rooms, HF communications equipment, and associated IT systems remain fully maintained, documented, and ready to support engineering activities at all times.
You will play a central role in enabling engineering, integration, and verification work by coordinating day‑to‑day test activities, managing laboratory configurations and releases, and overseeing both physical and system setups. Acting as a key point of communication across technical teams, you’ll help maintain predictable, safe, and high‑quality engineering outcomes for the program.
This position is critical to ensuring the lab environment remains controlled, compliant, and capable of supporting complex system development throughout the program lifecycle.
Key role requirements below:
- Prior experience in Defence, secure facilities, or complex system-of-systems environments.
- Understanding of HF propagation, transceivers, modems, antennas, and RF safety practices (desirable).
- Familiarity with Windows Server 2022 administration and operational maintenance activities.
- Experience with RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux), including command-line operation, system configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Cisco switch/router configuration, monitoring, and O&M activities, (desirable).
- Familiarity with Linux administration, virtualisation, and network configuration.
- Experience training or leading junior technicians.
- Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance
