About You
You are an experienced quality assurance professional with a strong background in Defence or other high‑risk industries. You bring extensive expertise in auditing quality management systems, developing supplier quality programs, and leading investigations with precision and integrity. Your ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of business is matched by your technical competence in standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and AS/NZS 31000. You thrive in complex, multi‑disciplinary environments and are confident in guiding suppliers through onboarding audits, corrective actions, and business maturity assessments. With a Lead Auditor qualification or equivalent experience, you are ready to mentor, coach, and lead supplier quality assurance practitioners while upholding the values of integrity, respect, accountability, safety, excellence, and care for each other.
About the Role
This is a potential opportunity to join H&B Defence as a Senior Supplier Quality Specialist, where you will play a pivotal role in leading supplier onboarding audits and driving the upskilling of suppliers in line with contractual requirements. You will contribute to assessment reports, develop technical checklists, and ensure corrective action plans are implemented and closed out effectively. The role involves leading supplier audits, verifying compliance, and assessing business maturity, while also supporting investigations into non‑conforming services and products. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of audits and findings, implementing quality assurance training, and developing frameworks that can be applied across a trilateral nuclear industrial base.
As part of H&B Defence, you will actively promote a strong safety culture, contribute to trade control compliance, and lead by example in fostering organisational excellence. This position requires interstate and overseas travel and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a mission‑focused environment where safety, accountability, and continuous improvement are paramount.
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
- Lead Auditor qualifications or relevant experience
- Recent experience in Supplier Auditing, preferably within the Defence sector
- Excellent technical communication skills- written and verbal
