Site Engineer – Nuclear Site- Skip Marking Lead



About the role

Here at Cavendish Nuclear we have an opportunity for a Site Engineer to join us at Heysham 2 on a permanent basis. As the Site Engineer you will be part of and lead a new team of 3 technicians for the operations and maintenance of the Skip Marking equipment, this is a unique project to Heysham and full training will be provided.

As the Site Engineer – Skip Marking Lead you will be responsible for delivery of the service including but not limited to producing Work Order Cards / packs and supporting any related Engineering Changes (EC’s) ensuring that the Skip Marking Equipment is maintained and operated in accordance with applicable procedural processes. i.e. the site engineer will ensure that their respective site delivers marking campaigns in a safe manner in accordance with the programme.


Specialist training will be provided for the operation and maintenance of the equipment.


What we are looking for


  • HNC (or equivalent) in a Mechanical Discipline.
  • IOSH. (preferred but not required)
  • Experience of working on a Nuclear Site
  • Organised and experience in planning and schduling of works


Following Training is an advantage:      


  • Work Order Card Specifier
  • Competent Person E&M
  • Competent Person NR
  • Nominated Supervisor



Heysham Power Station – Lancashire, or Torness Power Station – East Lothian

The roles are based at Heysham 2 and Torness (probably one engineer per site) for Skip Marking campaigns as required.



Successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
