Mechanical Technician – Nuclear Site- Skip Marking




Role Responsibilities


Here are Cavendish Nuclear we are seeking a Mechanical Technician to support our Heysham site team in delivering allocated project work from assignment to close out on a unique Skip Marking project.


  • Report to Cavendish Nuclear supervisor/engineer for all matters relating to quality and safety.
  • Undertake all work as instructed by the Supervisor/Responsible Engineer to the requirements of the task documentation (i.e. Work Instructions, Implementation/Quality plans, Method Statements, Risk Assessments etc)
  • Comply with all relevant safety instructions as identified through supervisor/engineer.
  • Perform work whilst avoiding danger to themselves and others that might be affected by their acts or ommissions.
  • Report all anomalies, safety hazards, plant damage and specific problems through the project supervisor.
  • Adopt at all times START principle (Stop, Think, Act, Review, Tell) whilst engaged on all types of work.
  • Participate in the production of Point of Work Risk Assessments.
  • Participate in pre and post job briefs.
  • Use plant and equipment correctly, and in accordance with training and instruction provided.

Role Qualifications & Requirements


  • Recognised appropriate apprenticehip scheme completion in a Mechanical discipline
  • CCNSG Safety Passport Required or CSCS- or eligible to maintain
  • Eligible for CTC Security Clearance
  • Work on EDF Power Stations or in the Nuclear Environment beneficial



Heysham Power Station – Lancashire, or Torness Power Station – East Lothian



Successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
