We are currently recruiting for a Category Specialist to support the delivery of major nuclear engineering projects.

 

You will be responsible for the development and implementation of Category Management strategies and processes including the execution, implementation and performance management of contracts.

 

Your key deliverables will include:

  • Assist in the development of Procurement strategies that maximise value for the business, based on understanding the business needs and the supply market potential;
  • Develop a good understanding of the specific supply markets relating to spend categories within the project
  • Conduct sourcing activities to meet requirements in support of the overall Category strategy.
  • Conduct market engagement, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and contract award activities in respect of a specific portfolio of goods and services.
  • Support Business Development activities by assisting with the design of supply chains and the sourcing strategy for bids.
  • Manage the performance of key suppliers, using appropriate metrics, to improve performance, increase levels of engagement, encourage innovation and deliver additional value from long-term contracts;
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Support operational activities, including bidding activities and mobilisation of new contracts

 
What do I need to do the role? 

  • Experience in a similar role in an Engineering type industry, or similar
  • A sound understanding of end to end sourcing, and supplier management processes
  • CIPS qualified, or working towards, is desirable
  • Be eligible to achieve appropriate BPSS security clearance
