Job Description

 

Key Tasks and Activities:                                              

  1. Supporting schools at risk of requiring improvement to retain / get to good within twelve months; through a small caseload of schools
  2. Manage a specialist team of School Improvement Advisers; for example, those who work with ‘at risk’ Focus schools embedding Aiming for Outstanding, our strategy and in particular, a Focus Schools Improvement Initiative, to include quality assurance and impact evaluation.
  3. Oversee impact evaluation of Aiming for Outstanding modules through a robust programme of SIA monitoring visits
  4. Ensure early referral to School Improvement Team Lead in relation to schools not making sufficient progress; enacting intervention.
  5. Co-lead on developing partnerships with headteachers across districts in support of initiatives to raise standards
  6. Co-lead on inspection management; risk assessment, support for and follow-up.
  7. Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people in relation to the tasks of this role.
  8. Support the Team Lead in overseeing performance management and planning professional development opportunities for the team and each individual within it.

     

    Additional Key Accountabilities:

  • Partnership working with Teaching Schools and other system leaders

 

Key Outputs/Deliverables:

 

  • High quality school improvement traded strategy delivered across schools in Worcestershire and beyond
  • Revenue from traded work increases

     

  • Contributing to meeting contract KPIs
