We are currently recruiting for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) based in our Winnipeg, Manitoba office. This is permanent full time opportunity (40 hours per week) and will report to the Chief Engineer. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is responsible to the Chief Engineer and PRM for the completion of the maintenance and repair tasks which are assigned to them. AMEs are required to possess certain certificates issued by the Ministry of Transport which permits them to certify aircraft as ready for flight and in sound condition.
 

In this role, you will:
 

  • Work on CL Water Bomber Aircraft
  • Maintain, adjust, modify, test, diagnose, and repair an aircraft’s mechanical or structural systems
  • Work with specialized aviation and power tools, computers and diagnostic equipment 
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks
  • Keep timely and accurate records of the repair and maintenance activities that were conducted
  • Carefully observe all procedures, rules and regulations when performing any task
  • Be thoroughly familiar with, and put to use, safety procedures and safe work practices
  • Use the appropriate PPE for tasks/jobs
  • Maintain a clean and productive work area
  • Work efficiently alone and as a team
  • Read, understand, and adhere to the:
    • Safety & Health Policy Statement
    • Company Occupational Health & Safety Manual
    • Company Policies and Procedures
  • Utilize the Company reporting system to report any hazard, incident or accident
  • Enter labour in the labour tracking system accurately for all tasks performed
  • Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
     

As our ideal candidate, you:
 

  • Must hold a valid M1 AME license
  • Have 5 years’ experience with M1 Turbine Powered Aircraft
  • Have demonstrated experience working on WinAir or other similar program
  • Have good organizational skills
  • Are proficient in English, written and spoken
  • Have the physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods
  • Have the physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods
  • Have physical dexterity to allow working in small spaces

 

Working Conditions include:
 

  • Climbing ladders or standing on scaffolds
  • Operating various hangar equipment
  • You may be required to spend long hours on emergency repairs
  • Both indoor and outdoor work required in all types of weather
  • Working at remote bases during the Fire Fighting season
