Defence Equipment
The Supervisor role is based within our Defence Equipment business area.

 

Defence equipment stores, maintains, repairs and overhauls military vehicles and equipment so the UK army is able to train and deploy in a moment. As well as supporting vehicles that are already in service, the team carries out vehicle assembly integration and tests new vehicles.

 

The role
The difference our new Supervisor will make
As a Supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll provide first line management capability for our operational organisation. Ensuring the delivery teams have the people, tools and processes they need to safely deliver outputs against the plan(s).

 

Day to day, you’ll lead recruitment activities for roles in team e.g. ATR submissions, conducting interviews, ordering equipment/assets, completing new starter / induction processes, lead exit activities for team members, conducting exit interviews, equipment/asset collection/return and completing leaver processes. 

 

You will also conduct line manager activities in grievance and disciplinary procedures in line with policy, conducting investigations, lead hearings, first level outcome/decision maker. 

 

You’ll manage employee welfare providing information and support, hearing and addressing concerns and escalating where appropriate You’ll manage performance of team members in line with policies, conducting informal reviews, objective setting, PDR processes.

Essential experience
•    Previous leadership experience 
•    Full UK license – essential 
•    Competent with Microsoft 
•    ERP experience 
•    Managing Health and safety 
•    Currently hold or have the ability to obtain SC security clearance
•    Lean , 5S knowledge
•    Customer engagement experience
