This is your opportunity to join Babcock as a Carpenters Assistant. Reporting into the Carpenter Supervisor, you will be supporting them with all repairs, installations and other work as requested on site. This is a hands-on manual role working with basic hand tools to carry out preparatory and finishing work e.g., sanding, varnishing and painting.

We are looking for an all-rounder who is reliable and has a ‘can do’ attitude. You will have a keen eye to attention to detail and be a hard worker who is always willing to step in. You will have the ability to prioritise your work effectively with a strong awareness of H&S.
What will you be doing?
As a Carpenter Assistant you will
• Ensure adequate stocks of materials are held to complete tasks.
• Maintain tools and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Ensure the Carpenter’s workshop and associated storage areas are kept clean and tidy.
• Ensure that only authorised personnel enter the workshops.
• Carry out preparatory and finishing work, i.e., sanding, varnishing, painting as requested by the Carpenter.
• Complete tasks requested by the Carpenter to a high standard
The experience you’ll bring
• Experience of working in a similar environment desirable
• Ability to use small hand tools competently and confidently is essential
• Full Driving License required as you will be required to undertake occasional help driving the van, doing installations across the site
• You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving ‘Security Check’ (SC) clearance.
