This is your opportunity to join Babcock as an AFV Crew Member where you will drive, operate and maintain Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFV) (and any other vehicles for which qualified) in support of the Contract here at Bovington.


Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a driven individual who is an effective verbal and written communicator with the ability to work effectively under own initiative, or as part of a team to achieve desired results.


What will you be doing?

•    Safely driving and controlling vehicles on public roads and across country 
•    Operate AFV Special to Role (STR) Systems including; AFV turret systems, bridge launching & digging equipment and bulldozing and mine clearance equipment
•    Carrying out non-specific preparatory work on vehicles including: Minor repairs, general cleaning, washing & painting and refuelling
•    Carrying out Level 1 maintenance and repair tasks as specified in publications for vehicle type and completed to the highest possible standard
•    Carrying out Level 1 maintenance and repair tasks within BDSG as required and dependant on priority
•    Collecting and delivering of vehicle platforms to BDSG/DSG Lulworth as required


The experience you’ll bring 

•    Driving licence Category B essential
•    Driving licence Category C desirable
•    Must be physically fit as regular manual handling is a requirement of the job.
•    Customer focussed with good communication skills
•    Self-motivating, reliable and committed to excellent service delivery
•    Able to contribute to departmental goals both individually and as a team member
•    Must hold or have the ability to obtain SC security clearance
