This is your opportunity to join Babcock International as a AFV Communication Technician. You will be working within a team to look after armoured fighting vehicle communications by carrying out Level 1 inspection; testing and repair of all communications equipment used in support of the Contract.

What will you be doing?

Your main duties will include:


•    Carry out Level 1 repairs of communications equipment in accordance with authorised procedures and to the highest possible standard.
•    Identify and order spare parts; correctly prepare equipment for Level 2 repair.
•    Respond to communications breakdowns during working hours and, when rostered, out of hours.
•    Drive, control, operate and maintain vehicles for which qualified. 
•    Use Company or Authority provided tools and equipment safely and in accordance with authorised procedures.
•    Provide assistance to the Customer when required whilst equipment is on charge.
•    Maintain all Teamwork areas in a clean, tidy and safe condition. Follow agreed ‘Safe Systems of Work’ wearing of appropriate, provided PPE when required to do so.

The experience you’ll bring 

•    We will need you to have good knowledge of vehicle communications systems
•    Good communication skills both oral and written
•    H license is desirable
•    You will need to have knowledge of Bowman communications equipment

•    You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving ‘Security Check’ (SC) clearance.
