In this role, you will:


  • Work within a dedicated and innovative team focussed on improving platform availability and operational capability using objective data-driven decisions
  • Work with the team to shape and implement a best in class Asset Management program
  • Support a range of programs and roles, including a combination of conceptual product development and operational improvement initiatives
  • Have a passion for applying data analysis techniques to overcome real world challenges - deriving intelligence from data


  • Perform Database Administration:
    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Submarine Enterprise data and provide data management support to maintain databases/data systems
    • Conduct end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering from multiple data sources, requirements specification, processing, and analysis to ensure ongoing delivery of high-quality data
    • Develop and implement systems and processes to assess and ensure accuracy, integrity, and quality of data
    • Provide recommendations on streamlining processes for data integration/mining
    • Identify and qualify new data sources, techniques, and datasets to enhance insight
    • Analyze requests from users for new systems, system changes, etc. and recommend necessary actions


  • Perform Data Analysis:
    • Analyze large, raw, complex data sets to solve difficult problems, applying advanced analytical methods as needed to derive actionable intelligence
    • Identify, track, and report meaningful KPIs to characterize and validate performance
    • Develop compelling visual displays of quantitative analytics for client facing presentation
    • Facilitate and support the use of sound analytical practices across the organization
    • Create and communicate best practices and mentor staff in data analysis
    • Advise decision-makers on strategic and/or operational business enhancements based on findings of data analysis


 As our ideal candidate,


  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • You have three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in building data-driven solutions in an industry focussed on the design, production or support of complex engineered assets
  • You have experience designing, implementing and optimizing repeatable predictive models; experience with Modeling and Simulation techniques is desirable
  • You have strong time management and organizational skills
  • You have excellent customer service and stakeholder management experience
  • You have excellent presentation skills
  • You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, and PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems (such as SAP or Oracle), SQL, and relational databases is highly desirable
  • Advanced skills in Excel (VBA Programming) and Business Intelligence tools (such as Power BI) would be considered an asset
  • Experience in supply chain process optimization and other transformation initiatives is considered an asset
  • You will be eligible for Canadian Secret Security, Controlled Goods and ITAR Clearances
