Project Manager – Facilities (12 Month Contract)

In this role, you will:


  • Utilize Project Management methodology to schedule all project activities to ensure key dates and milestones are met for all facility projects.
  • Manage internal and external project communications, ensuring Stakeholders and our Customers are kept up to date
  • Focus on project delivery by utilizing skills and experience to accelerate activities to meet or better the project cost and schedule targets
  • Actively manage project scope, schedule, cost and quality while following the applicable processes and procedures
  • Establish budgets and forecasts and subsequently manage activities to remain within the budget 
  • Coordinate all project and consultant activities, while ensuring resource demands and priorities are communicated to key players.
  • Provide supervision, coaching, and mentoring to the team members to maximize their potential and ensure a healthy team.
  • Manage project risks, make early predictions of any overspends against budget and apply mitigation actions against the infrastructure project budget.
  • Develop and deliver appropriate project progress and status reports while maintaining the quality of the product delivered to our customers
  • Participate in procurement planning and prepare tender documents
  • Act as the representative of the project director or project manager, within Babcock delegated signing authority
  • Travel as required throughout Canada, including remote sites.
  • Conduct occasional minor manual labour such as moving furniture and furniture assembly
  • Other duties as necessary     

As our ideal candidate,


  • You have a minimum 5 years’ experience in an Infrastructure project leadership role in conjunction with holding a PMP Certification or equivalent; or a minimum of 8 years’ experience
  • You display a sound working knowledge of Project Management Principles and have the ability to understand what the requirements of the business are to successfully deliver
  • You are able to effectively communicate with senior managers, customers and stakeholders, including presenting in front of groups.
  • You demonstrate advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint and a working familiarity with at least one version of common scheduling software
  • You have a broad engineering/technical background is an asset
  • Eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
